Frequently Asked Questions:

A proactive snow alert service for custom locations and mountain weather. We check trusted forecasts and text you when it matters - simple, accurate, and fast. We believe that technology should work for you – not the other way around.

Two big additions: Dynamic Update and Conditions Report. Both build on our original Daily Update feature. We also have a refined forecast engine for improved forecast accuracy in mountain terrain.

At your chosen time each day, we review the next 24 hours of forecast data for all your locations. If snow is expected, you’ll receive a single consolidated Daily Update message with the forecasted accumulation totals. Consider it a nudge to pay closer attention - especially when those surprise storms hit.

We scan forecasts for your locations every hour. If more than 6 inches of additional snow appears in the 24-hour outlook since your last Daily Update, we’ll send one extra Dynamic Update that day. It’s built to catch meaningful, last-minute changes and model developments.

(Requires a Trial or Season Pass)

Conditions Report is an on-demand snapshot of recent conditions at your exact pin, estimated from saved forecast model data. Just text us the name of any location you’ve saved (e.g., “Turnagain Pass”), and we’ll reply with the custom report, including:

  • Recent snow: estimated totals and density for the past 72 hours and past 24 hours
  • Wind: maximum winds over the same periods
  • Snowline: whether your pin was above or below snowline
  • Heads-up forecast: next 24 hours at your pin
Note: For backcountry travel, always check your official avalanche forecast and use local knowledge.

(Requires a Trial or Season Pass)

We start with raw data from a blend of NOAA/NWS model runs. Our forecasting engine then processes this data to develop forecasts for the exact elevation of your custom locations.

Yes - you are in full control. You pick the time for your Daily Update and can set the allowable hours for Dynamic Updates. You can also pause/resume anytime - no app to manage.

After a storm cycle ends, we’ll send a quick “no more snow expected” note - then we stay quiet until snow returns.

Nope! Custom locations are completely private to you.

We think you will get a lot of value from our service. It also turns out that sending SMS forecast alerts over the US cellular network is expensive – especially when looking over an entire season. There is also a free email version.

The Pro Season Pass is a one-time payment covering the entire 2025–2026 season.

You need a U.S. based mobile phone number and a valid email address. It takes less than 5 minutes to get set for the season!
